The Anchorage rendition

The tide pool room was included in the show How to Survive at the Anchorage Museum in 2023-2024, curated by Fran DuBrock.

A 6 hour 13 minute film shown on unsynchronized projections, including floor projections, with sound. Bean bags made by the Anchorage Museum staff using fabric from the previous version that used to be hammocks, hand dyed with Nanci Lee.

I have not been able to make it up to Anchorage to see this installation and the bean bags made by the Anchorage Museum team, so the photos I have are courtesy of the museum, and from friends who have passed through . . .

The Michigan rendition

The tide pool room is a film lasting 6 hours 13 minutes, twenty hand-dyed hammocks, two fiberglass fountains, and a collection of short stories about swimming with my friend.

Original 6 hour 13 minute score by Julie Zhu.

As fulfillment of my thesis requirement for my MFA at U Michigan, March 2022.
